NTHEN’s Graduation Exercises and Commencement Ceremonies
NTHEN has hosted graduation exercises and commencement ceremonies for Homeschool students since the early 1990’s and has assisted numerous Homeschool support groups over the years in developing their own graduation events. Nevertheless, our graduation program continues to be very popular with graduating seniors (and their parents) because our professionally designed and executed program offers seniors opportunities to come together for fellowship throughout the year prior to their graduation, and to participate in activities such as barbecues, swimming parties, sporting activities, nights at the movies, formal and other special events. Thus, our graduates graduate as a true graduating class, not just as a group of strangers! Parents appreciate the fact that one low fee covers everything - facilities, speakers, music, reception.

NTHEN typically sponsors one to three graduation ceremonies each year in May, each accommodating 600+ graduate family members and their guests. Graduation always includes a commencement speaker who is selected for his or her ability to “charge” the graduates with their message of encouragement and inspiration to the graduate, family members and all who attended. Special music and singing are also an integral part of our program as is the uniqueness of each student graduating individually, not in a "mass" format. Our 2010 Graduation Exercises and Commencement Ceremony was held on May 29, 2010. The commencement speaker was Dr. Kuni Michael Beasley, Founder and Dean of the NEW College Preparatory Academy and the National Homeschool Academy, and president of NEW College Solutions. As a current Homeschooling dad, Dr. Beasley's charge to the graduates of 2010 was one of finding their place of service to the community (the world), continuing to prepare themselves for the area of service God has chosen for them, and then investing in that service wholeheartedly for the glory of God! Special music presentations were provided by Mr. Joe Tubb, whose beautiful voice was a real praise unto the Lord, and Mrs. Mary Beth Costello, whose piano accompanyments and ceremonial presentations before, during, and after the ceremonies, blessed the entire event.
If you have a student that you wish to be part of our Graduating Class of 2011, plan to attend our first parent/graduates meeting to be held on September 7, 2010 at the Arapaho Road Baptist Church, 2256 Arapaho Road, Garland, TX 75044 at 11:00 a.m.
All details of the 2011 Graduation and Commencement Ceremony will be discussed and there will be ample time for Q & A. A complete 2011 Graduation Packet will be made available to each family attending. Due to issues beyond our control, that document will not be available for downloading on this page until after the September 7, 2010 meeting. We strongly encourage parents and prospective 2011 graduates to attend this first meeting so that they can be properly informed about the ceremonies NTHEN has been conducting for nearly 20 years, and about participating in the various monthly activities and gatherings.
